Racing Team Turkey, which is the first and only Turkish team to compete in the European LeMans Series (ELMS), one of the most prestigious series of motor sports this year, finished the third race of the series, 4h Monza, which took place on the Monza track in Italy, on the podium.

In the qualifying session held on Saturday in Monza, where 42 cars started and the track temperature reached 50 degrees in different sessions, one of our drivers, Jack Atkiens, took the tenth place on the grid as a result of the 1.38.844 lap he took with the effect of the increasing track temperature.

Racing Team Turkey, which started the race on Sunday with our national athlete Salih Yoluç in the driver's seat, despite the blow he received from the front right side in the first moments of the race, he rose through the race and completed the first part of the race, and transferred the car to Charlie Eastwood for the second stint.

After a successful mid-session, Eastwood handed over the car to Jack Atkiens for the final part of the race.
Racing Team Turkey, which rose to the podium in the general classification, lost its strategic advantage to a large extent due to the successive safety car periods that entered the advantage range of the competitors.

Despite this, Atkiens, pushing for the first place in the classification, was able to pass the finish line as the second in the classification with a difference of 0.066, despite a fierce struggle with the number 24 Nielsen Racing car, which took the first place in the LMP2 Pro/Am classification.
Maintaining its leadership in the classification with 68 points, Racing Team Turkey will go to the 4H Barcelona race of the ELMS season, which will take place on August 28 in Spain, by making a significant difference to its closest rival.
